Credomatic Estilo Moda 2016 Day 2

Day 2 was a rollercoaster, a fashion rollercoaster. and  I mean that in a good way, the best possible way as a matter of fact, the thrilling and exiting part of a rollercoaster moment kind of way. Ok I'm done with analogies, moving on, CEM16 - Day 2 brought in a lot of energy and of course a lot of fashion. It was a quite a lot to take in, the designers who showcased their collections on Day 2 brought a lot to the table, the collections were were spectacular to say the least. Let's get to it Shall we! The opener for Day 2 was none other then the amazingly talented Yoyo Barrientos

Credomatic Estilo Moda 2016 Day 1

Hello Sappers! This past few days have been quite eventful. I had the pleasure to be invited by "Estilo" Magazine and the production team "CreaModa" to the first edition of "Estilo Moda", a fabulous event that promises to be the pinnacle of fashion and style for many years to come, not to mention a magnificent platform for top designers and many others in the fashion industry, that little by little is building up and setting golden standards in Honduras. The first edition of Estilo Moda was held at the Honduras Maya Hotel Convention Center, the event was amazing from start to finish, a congratulations is due to the production team and all the people involved in the making of this spectacular event, that I must say surpassed all my expectations and proved to many, me included, the talent and capacity from the people involved and desire to make a stand point for the development of the fashion industry in Honduras in the most grand way.

Agatha Ruiz De La Prada in Honduras x CFWH16

H ello Sappers! Hope everyone is doing fine and having the best time. As some of you may know, last year I was selected to be one of the official photographers for Fashion Week Honduras, and this year I went back. I had a lovely time and got to met a few cool people. Amongst them: Jose Forteza, Senior Editor for Vogue Mexico & Latin America, a few special guests designers from Nicaragua and Dominican Republic and of course The Colorful, the one and only, Mrs. Agatha Ruiz De La Prada.

Britney's Greatest 30 | Two Decades of Hits

B ritney's new album "Glory" is expected to be released in just a few hours (Friday, Aug. 26th), and I thought we could take a trip down memory lane of Britney's Greatest's Hits. Also I had written a whole post about this and this moronic site deleted it for some reason, so I'm quite furious and am publishing this in anger and out of consolation for myself... RIP to the original post... a moment of silence... Anyway, enjoy! PS. The list includes only singles with a video and are placed in chronological order.

#ASAPP Travels | La Esperanza, Intibuca

H ello Sappers! hope you are you all are doing ok, and thank you for stopping by. As per usual it's been a while, I am aware of that, but I have plenty to juggle with as of now. Apologies for the long periods of time I'm away, I thank those of you who stop by occasionally to check up the blog. I was looking through my posts the other day and realised I never published anything about my trip to "La Esperanza", I only posted on Instagram, as some of you who follow me there might have seen. So now I finally bring you the story about my journey around this magical and beautiful place "La Gruta" a Church Built on a small cave in stone by Local Prisoners

#LOTW | Casual Chic

S etting up a more elaborate outfit during the summer, might be a bit challenging, with the higth temperatues and all, you might not want to put on a blazzer or anything more then a 'T fo that matter, but the trick lies in the fabrics you wear really.  For me personally it is always, I don't want to say struggle, but it is a challenge to to wear something less then casual, specially during those extra hot days, I'm more of a cardigan kinda guy, because I do like to cover up my arms, at least up to the elbow, but from time to time it expected of you to dress up in more then a simple 'T and a cardigan.

Winter is Coming...

R elax Game Of Thrones fans, this is not a GOT related post, sorry! :P While everyone gets ready for summer around the globe, I on the other side get ready for the opposite: Winter.  You see, where I live, we only really have two seasons, and those are Summer of course, and Winter. Although it really feels like a prolonged summer throughout the year, varying only in the level of humidity in the air. While summer technically lasts from mid - late March, 'till late May - mid June, when winter kicks off with the rainy season, so, it is now time to take out the impermeable coats and the rain boots until the cooler air from the north strikes our shores. So that is what this post is about: Rain Season Style. There are not mayor changes to be made on your outfits or wardrobes, rather then some minor and cool alterations to adapt to this new humid and wet weather. First and foremost we have: "The Jacket", yes, a definite essential during this rainy seaso

Roatán To Do List 2.0 The Budget Edition Pt 1

Hello Sappers! Hope everyone is having a magnificent month so far, sending good vibes and positive energy your way. I was recently on a gateway trip on the beautiful island of Roatán, (Bay Islands, Honduras) a "small" yet enchanting and unique island just a few miles offshore from the Honduran main land. As you can tell by the tittle on this post, this is an updated version (so to speak) of a previous post by a similar tittle, which you can find, scrolling down the blog on the most seen articles on the side bar. Do to that post I wont get into to much detail about the island. This time I when to some places I haven't been to to yet and to some other "hotspots" or must see/go, very popular places that you just cant help on paying a visit whilst on the island.  I tittled this post "The Budget Edition"cause I did a fair amount of things that do not require much spending, but still get to see and specially know the island. the one thin

#MusicMondays Lemonade : Beyonce

"I was served lemons, but I made lemonade" -Hattie White Where do I even start... Beyonce yet again proves, what true artistry looks and sounds like. Last time she gave us a preview of what she was capable of and you better know by now that Queen B is not just a chameleon and game changer, she is what a true artist looks like, she makes her worth be palpable and as present as it can be in all she does.

Costume Institute (MET) Gala 2016

Zoe Saldana in Dolce & Gabbana You thought the Oscars red carpet was the biggest fashion event there was?... well think again, the true biggest fashion event of the season is the MET Ball or Met Gala as it is more commonly known, but it's true name is The Costume Institute Gala and it it hosted in Metropolitan Museum of art in New york. For those of you who are not as familiar with the event, or don't know anything about it at all, here's a little explanation courtesy of wikipedia: The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion exhibit. Each year's event celebrates the theme of that year's Costume Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the night, since guests are expected to c

#NowPlaying

Hello sappers! it's been a while, sorry for the long hiatus, but you guys know how it is. Stopped by today to give you a little update / heads up, I haven't been posting my classic #MusicMonday 's post which I'll be doing soon, 'çause I'm quite behind on it, but since music is such a big part of my life and I'm pretty sure yours too, I thought, in the mean time, to keep you guys on the loop in a different way.  I just joined Spotify even thought I said I never would, but never say never I guess. Anyway, after a major fail with Soundcloud, I decided to give Spotify a try, and even though I still don't like it very much (I'm an iPod kinda guy after all) but to share with you all what goes through my ears on the daily. There's this new feature on the blog. Now you'll find on the right sidebar, the Spotify gadget, which will let you listen to my current tunes right on the blog. Hope you all like this cool new feature and also hope you

Atelier Versace SS'16 Haute Couture

Leave it to Donatella to give you a true statement collection, asymmetry never looked so good. In this her latest Atelier collection, Donatella stuns ones again with a beautiful, modern and feminine  asymmetric collection. The asymmetric cuts on the garments make your eyes dance from top to bottom. Playful, sexy and stylish pieces, evoke  and exude femininity everywhere. Asymmetric cuts and deep cut offs leave the imagination at play, while a pop of color in the seemingly neutral pieces give the garments that extra something that makes it stand out and make you turn your head twice.

Zuhair Murad Haute Couture SS'16

Modern Princess... Murad knows what a girl wants to feel like, and with this beautiful embroidered fairytale designs, he sure captivates the spectators attention. While Murad is no stranger to embroidery and some might think the collections are quite monotone, I beg to differ.  In this collection, Murad shows a wider range on the garments, with intricate and extremely detailed embroidery and delicate , feminine touches like transparencies and cuts that bring out best and most of the female body. From short structured dresses, both sleeveless and long sleeves as well as with shoulder pads and capes, Murad's collection is one to remember.

Giambattista Valli Haute Couture SS'16

Simplicity, chic, layering, volume, embroidery, sophistication and femininity. Those are the words to describe Valli's most recent couture collection. It started off with simple, retro, light and bright colored little dresses with layered, volumed details, shortly followed by wide short dresses, above the knee length with embroidered details that popped up the designs to life. Then came the small tule capes and the cross over dresses along with the fairy, boho looking dresses.

Missoni Mens AW'16 (MFW)

Autumn Hippie chic. Missoni likes to put on a show and just like last year, the runway was a seasonal scenario, a leafy autumnal scenario that served well the propose for the showcase of its latest AW'1 Menswear collection. This collection screamed Autumn and Winter all around, from the montage to the garments themselves, knitted pieces marched down the runway effortlessly in perfect display. From knitted sweaters and cardigans to more elaborated jackets and blazers, all in a very casual and simplistic approach.

Valentino Menswear AW'16 (PFW)

80's Tribal The 80's and 70's were a very frequent source of inspiration for this season and Valentin showcased this decade in the most grand way. The collection was a series of masterpieces, from long, more classic coats with a very retro British business man approach to a more indie, tribal - bohemian look.

Lanvin FW'16 Menswear (PFW)

Boho-Chic Lavin presents a collection with slight grunge- goth finishes and boho-pirate feel, the collection overall filled with slightly oversized garments and slim fit pants, a feminine touch with low cut neck shirts, transparencies and belted coats.

Versace Menswear FW'16 (MFW)

Winter wonderland. Nothing to do with alice in wonderland, but Versace ones again proves to be best at what they do, this collection is not only sleek and stylish, it is the perfect modern statement for the, up to date fashionista. A display of color. Color was certainly not a lacking element in the Versace FW'16 collection, it started in whites, silvers and dimmed emerald greens, and it slowly and effortlessly evolved into a wonderland of colors, from blues, navys, browns, magentas, black and silvered fabrics, the collection a demure colorful one.

Dolce & Gabbana FW'16 (Milan Fashion Week) Menswear

Finally! that's what I have to say about this collection, at least to start it all of. D&G has been on what I call Domenico & Stefano's Midlife crisis, and I mean, with that tax evasion issues, life's gotta be hard for them right now right, but that should not be an excuse. D&G's collections, for about 2 or 3 years now, have been way over the top, excessive embroidery and heavy, overwhelmed garments, not much to my liking to say the least, so that it's way I was sort of  pleasantly relieved when I saw this collection, and I say "sort of" because only the pieces you see pictured below are what I consider to be rescuable from the entire collection.

Maison Martin Margiela AW'16 Menswear (PFW)

Margiela's bet was a moody and dark-ish collection, filled with goth and grunge like elements. The collections was a bit confusing, yet cohesive somehow, it had many elements and many things to look at even though the garments were quite simple. Long coats and layering, pronounced, very deep "V"cuts, knitted fabrics, shorts and sweaters, lace up shoes and calf length socks, the collection had it all, like a teenagers mind it was all over the place, yet somehow the collection was still cohesive.

Dior Homme AW'16

Goth Glam.  That's the only way to describe Dior's latest Fall/Winter collection, a very classy, chic, vampiresque, dark and moody collection, filled with blacks and bloody looking red tones. Very sleek classic cuts give the collection it's stylish and modern signature look, with of course the addition of elements that give the collection it's goth-ish vibe, elements such as, metallics, the colors of course, the fit, the slim bow ties, the fabrics and prints. The mix and match of all this elements make this a perfect, modern and current collection and a new and renewed approach to the goth, 90's era.  Not many words are necessary to describe this collection, its quite simple, unique and stylish, so I'll lets the pictures speak for themselves.

Bottega Veneta AW'16 Menswear

Retro, Clean and Texturised. The retro vibe has been a very persistent  and reoccurring element this season on several collections, most designers have gone back to the 70's and 80's for inspiration for their collections, and so is the case for Veneta. A very clean, retro collection that gradually morphs from neutral navy blue, black, white and grey tones, to plaided retro coats and jackets and plaided patched garments that add up to the 80's vibe present along the collection. Another element present, and actually my favorite one, is the inclusion of rubberised fabrics, leathery, rubberised  fabrics were included amidst the collection. Coats, pants and bags were showcased in said fabrics and once again it adds up to the retro feel of the collection.

Clavin Klein AW'!6 Menswear

Clean, Minimal and... Cozy?... Clavin Klein is a brand very well known for its minimalist approach on clothing. Black, white and denim are elements almost always present in their collections, and this AW '16 collection is not the exception, but this time we see the addition of two not so traditional elements... for the brand that is.  This season we have see the inclusion of a very non traditional element amongst many collections, and that element is a stranger to both Calvin Klein and many other brands, I'm talking about the "Foil" fabric. Calvin Klein and many other included this fabric amongst their collections, and must I say Klein did it perfectly.  The collection started with denim of course, washed out denim with golden linings to match the rest of the upcoming gold pieces that would later follow. The collection started with a casual approach, ripped denim jeans and T's, then came the coats, even though the collection never missed it's casu

Balmain FW '16

Balmain has become the name for many things in the past few years, Style, Celerity Culture, Mainstream Media and Power Names, amongst many other pop culture references, by the hand of Olivier Rousteing, Balmain is now a modern cultural phenomenon, than just a Parisienne brand for the extremely wealthy. Now don't be confused while Balmain is now a more well know name amongst a younger demographic, the bran still keeps it's regal status, that Rousteing has managed to give a modern take to, along with a youthful army to follow. Speaking of regal, this collection was no exception when it comes to the term. It certainly resembles royalty, it's military approach gives it that good old British appeal. From the choice of fabrics, to the intricate and detailed work that each individual piece has, to the overall collectiveness of it, only adds up to Rousteing's already existing genius contributions to the brand. Colorfulness, prints and embroidery were no strangers to the co

Berluti FW'16 Menswear

London 70's - 80's call... London boy, was the first thing that popped up in my mind when I saw Berluti's FW '16 collection, very stylish and modern with a very present retro vibe. From the earthy tones to the statement elements present amongst the garments, Berluti's collection was a perfect portrayal of what a retro inspired collection should be. The femininity present in the collection with very subtle details like, low cut necks, high waisted pants, belted coats, neck tied handkerchief and oversized pieces made this one a very fresh and current collection, even though this elements are not really modern at all, rather, resurfacing to present fashion. Regardless the collection is and absolute success and a must have. Last year's collection was one of my favorites, if not my actual favorite of them all, color reigned the runway, this year it kind of did it again but in a more demure way, with a reign of earthy tones and more earth tinted pastels -if that

Alexander McQueen AW'16 Menswear

Meet Edward Scissor Hands Fashionable cousin... Before we get into the collection I want to address a fun fact. This year's AW Mens collection was presented as "Alexander McQueen"and not just "Mcqueen" as they were trying to Shorten the brand's name, which was obviously an utter mistake, even though I have to sides to this decision... The brand will clearly not ever be the same without McQueen himself, and even though Sarah Burton was his right hand and she has somewhat kept the brand's over all image -although Im sure to for her own liking-, it's clear that Sarah has her own vision, that she has not been able to fully showcase, and this only suggests that, that moment is not coming any time soon. Bad News for Sarah, but I guess this are good news for the brand itself. Now lets get to the fun stuff. The collection has a very grunge, punk-ish vibe, and it sort of reminded me of Edward Scissor Hands, this was more do to the styling on the r

LCM (London Collections Men) AW16 Day 3

J.W Anderson I'll take two of each please... Anderson is not one to disappoint, this collection is one of my favorites from day 3, a perfect combination between artistry and trending elements. Perfectly structured, oversized knitted sweaters, abstract printed coats and silky fabrics, make this collection a definite must have. Not for an everyday feel, but more for the daring fashionistas, who are not afraid to make a trend set. Color was mostly bright and neutral with some opaque blacks, navy's and grey's and a pop of color at the bottom with the orange - crimson ish shoes. Statement pieces no doubt, all of them. Margaret Howell Classic and retro... people in the fashion industry say fashion is all about looking forward, but more often rather then not we see collections inspired in a certain decade or element from the past... That is the case for the collection of Margaret Howell, not that the prior is a bad thing, he have seen it done before and so we have

LCM (London Collections Men) AW16, Day 2

Agi & Sam Lean and Clean, that's how I describe this collection. Clean cuts and lean fabrics make this a must have collection, the play within lengths and simple asymmetries make the pieces definite must haves. Layering plays an important and not so very noticeable part on this collection, it is so well put together, that the layering is almost unnoticeable and gives it that lean not so heavy structure. Slightly oversized  pieces make a perfect collection from start to finish. The colors remain on the darker size of the color paled, but we see the inclusion of brown and emerald green, along with the more often see navy blue and beige. From the colors to the fabrics and overall simplicity concept this is one the best collections from day 2. E. Tautz Fifty shades of grey... Tautz was feeling grey and blue for this season, as these were the colors the reigned the collection, we see a display a different ranges of grey that make perfect matching outfits, with of cou

LCM (London Collections Men) AW16, Day 1

We've come full circle! it's that time of the year once again That time when we look at endless proposals from countless designers all over the world, yes peeps it's runway season. This time in particular, we are focusing on the London Collections Men AW'16 catwalks that took place the past 8-11 Jan '16. Today we review some of the shows on day 1. Top Man Always fresh and hip, Top Man brings a collection for full of young. Long cuts are still a thing and oversized seems to be in it to stay. Between dark colors and some floral and symetric patterns, Top Man offers a fresh proposal for you to wear the upcoming winter season. Denim was no exception on the runway, it made and appearance in some of the pieces on the show, including one long coat that was actually one of my favorite pieces from the collection. The fabrics and patterns gave the collection it's fresh and young approach, as well as that wintery feel we get from the darker side of the color p
